Pastor Bill Weiss (Jr) was born in Phoenix, Arizona to William and Kathy Weiss during the time his father was serving with the US Air Force in Vietnam. He was baptized after his father was transferred to Wiesbaden AFB West Germany, and later confirmed at Love of Christ Lutheran Church.
Because of his father being in the Air Force, Pastor Weiss spent many of his growing up years in Germany and Spain. Spending this time overseas had a profound effect on him, leading him to do mission work in Vietnam, Guatemala, and India. His father’s last duty station before retiring was at Duluth, MN, and Minnesota was where the family settled after his retirement.
Pastor Weiss spent many years in St. Cloud Minnesota, completing high school and then earning his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Studies at St. Cloud State University in 1996. St. Cloud is also the location of his former home congregation Love of Christ Lutheran Church.
Pastor Weiss worked in the law enforcement field for many years, but at the guiding of the Holy Spirit, he entered Concordia Seminary – St. Louis in 2004. His field church during those years was St. Matthew Lutheran Church - Walnut Park, and his vicarage congregation was Ascension Lutheran Church in Wichita, KS.
It was at the seminary that Pastor Weiss met his bride and love of his life, Angela Joy. They are blessed with two children. A daughter, Kathleen, and a son, Thomas. Pastor Weiss has a passion for ministry, reaching the unchurched, and communicating the Gospel. He has a great desire to grow in faith and fellowship with the people whom God has sent him to serve.
